FIFA 13 is a detailed and realistic soccer game for Nokia Lumia Windows Phone devices, which mirrors the slick gameplay of the console version, and includes many of the same game modes.
Game modes in FIFA 13
Several game modes from the console/PC version are present in this Windows Phone version of FIFA 13. You can play a quick match (including training mode and shootout), compete in a tournament, and test your tactical skills in Manager mode. Unlike the iOS version, however, there's no online multiplayer included in FIFA 13 for Lumia phones.
Another fun feature of FIFA 13 is the challenge mode. Here you are thrust into a real life match scenario (based on actual games that have taken place) and must try to turn the tie around in your favor.
FIFA 13 also features a training mode and a penalty shoot-out competition.
Show off your skills
In terms of controls, FIFA 13 is quite fiddly to start with, using an on-screen analog stick and four action buttons, which change depending on whether you're attacking or defending.
The most significant addition from FIFA 12 is the Skill move button, which allows you to perform dazzling tricks by touching the button then performing touch gestures on the on-screen grid that appears. Controls are very well explained in FIFA 13's help menu and before too long you'll get the hang of it and will be playing all kinds of great passes and pulling off skills moves.
Realistic soccer action
The graphics in FIFA 13 are much improved on previous mobile versions of the game. Players look more realistic not just in their facial features, but also in the way they move and collide with each other.
There are more than 15,000 real life players included in the game, representing 500 teams from 30 different leagues. Couple this with the 32 life-modeled stadiums and all the great music tracks that play as you set games up, and you have a game that is immaculately presented.
With its wealth of game modes, polished graphics and realistic gameplay, FIFA 13 is a must-have for all soccer fans.
